The Crack (Version for Orchestra)

Let your fragility be heard

Vulnerability, forgiveness, restoration of contact: these are the building blocks for “The Crack,” a composition commissioned by the Dominicanenklooster Zwolle. A meditation on our human existence in which mistakes are inevitable, but asking forgiveness for those mistakes often so extremely difficult. The music was originally written for a small, vulnerable chamber music ensemble (flute, viola, cello and harp). An orchestration, commissioned by the Dominicanenklooster Zwolle, will sound during the Day of the Composer Zwolle. After all, you don’t light a candle to put it under the table, do you?
