For the Silence Wants to be Heard

The Crack (version for orchestra)

Let your fragility be heard

Vulnerability, forgiveness, regained contact: these are the building blocks for “The Crack,” a composition commissioned by the Dominican Monastery. A meditation about our human existence in which mistakes are inevitable, but asking forgiveness for those mistakes is often so terribly difficult. The music was originally written for a small, delicate chamber music ensemble (flute, viola, cello and harp). The Dominican Monastery commissioned an orchestration which will sound during the Day of the Composer Zwolle. After all, you don’t light a candle to put it under the table, do you?
